Platrium Rewards: Auctions

How do I participate in an auction?

If you have a Platrium Rewards account and you have Jacks in your account, then you can bid on any active auction. Visit our Auctions page to see the latest items up for bid and join in the action.

Please note: Once you place a bid with your Jacks, those Jacks will be unavailable to you until the auction takes place. If you did not win the auction, your Jacks will be deposited back into your Rewards account.

Auction items will only ship to mailing addresses within the U.S.

What happens to my Jacks once I bid?

Once you place a bid, the Jacks you bid cannot be used again until the auction takes place. If you do not win the auction, your Jacks that were bid will be deposited back into your account.

When does an auction end?

Every auction has its specific settings and end dates. Generally, items may be displayed and open for auction for about a week before the auction ends. Auction items may vary as well as their Jack value.

Can I retract my Jacks?

Bids are non-retractable. Once you bid your Jacks on an auction, you cannot retract them. If you do not win the auction, your Jacks that were bids will be deposited back into your account.

What is the difference between 'Power Bid' and 'Regular Bid'?

These are the two ways to bid in Rewards Auctions.

Power Bid gives you the chance to earn bonus Jacks, increasing the total number of Jacks you bid and as a result, raising your chances to win the auction.

To Power Bid, just play the Coaster game. The distance you travel with the roller coaster car is your bid. Your goal is to travel as far as you want to bid using the least amount of Jacks possible. Every time you hit the "Go" button to accelerate the car, it burns Jacks out of your account. . By timing your acceleration wisely (hint: try accelerating while going downhill to pick up speed) your final bid may be much higher than the amount of Jacks actually spent out of your account from pushing the "Go" button. This is the bonus Jacks component.

For instance, if you push the "Go" button to accelerate a few different times and for different lengths of time, it could cost you a total of 40 Jacks from your account, but your final bid may end up at 60 Jacks if you play the game right and drive the car far enough. These extra 20 Jacks are bonus. They do not come out of your account, but are added to your bid for free from Platrium. If you lose the auction, you will get back the total Jacks you spent from your account, and not the final bid amount. If your final bid amount includes bonus Jacks from the playing the game, the bonus Jacks are not returned to your account. Only Jacks you spent from your account are returned to your account if you lose the auction.

With Regular Bid, you can simply type in your bid amount. This method of bidding is quick and easy, but you won't have a chance to add bonus Jacks to your bid like you can with the Power Bid. If you lose the auction using Regular Bid, you will get back the full amount of Jacks you bid from your account.

What happens if I win the auction?

Auction winners will be notified via email. Members must provide a real and working email address. An undeliverable email address will result in a forfeit of the auction item. No response to Platrium’s email notification will result in a forfeit of the auction item.

If you win an auction, you will be prompted to enter or confirm your shipping address so we can mail your prize item. We can only ship prizes to U.S. mailing addresses. A missing or incorrect mailing address will forfeit your winning prize.

If you lose, your Jacks are returned to your account.

Platrium Rewards: Charities

What is the Rewards Charity program?

Donating your Jacks to a Rewards Charity is like giving online karma. Donate your Jacks by visiting our Rewards Charity page.

While we have shipping address limitations for our Auctions programs, you can donate your Jacks from any country. We welcome all of our international users to participate by donating their Jacks.

The charities we feature on our Rewards Charity page are some of the charities that our users have suggested to us. If you have a charity you wish to suggest, fill out the simple suggestion form on our main Rewards Charity page.

How do I contribute my Jacks to a Rewards Charity?

When you give your Jacks to a Charity, you not only help others, you are also building good karma for yourself.

We created a pachinko-style game that makes the act of giving fun and adds a chance to boost your total Jack contribution. The extra Jacks you can earn by playing the game are added to your total contribution for free from Platrium. We're cool like that. Just select the number of chips you wish to drop. Each chip costs 10 Jacks from your account. Depending on where the chips land, you may add a boost to your donation.

Who is JustGive & how are they involved in the process?

JustGive is a nonprofit organization founded in 1999. Platrium has teamed up with JustGive to process the donations Platrium makes through our Rewards program and to help ensure the charities you select are eligible non-profit organizations. If you have any questions regarding the donation payment process, you may contact JustGive at info@justgive.org or 866-JUSTGIVE (587-8448).

What are the Organizations I can make my donations to?

This list of charities below is based on input from our donors. As a Rewards account member, if you have a charity to suggest for our consideration, fill in the details on the Charity page and submit. Platrium is not affiliated with any charitable organizations and works with JustGive to facilitate the donations:

Platrium will make a quarterly donation to the charity you have selected using JustGive as our payment processor. Platrium and JustGive will send each organization a check four times a year:

  • In April for the funds earned from January 1st to March 31stof the prior 3 months.
  • In July for the funds earned from April 1st to June 30th of the prior 3 months.
  • In October for the funds earned from July 1st to September 30th of the prior 3 months.
  • In January for the funds earned from October 1st to December 31st of the prior 3 months.
